The basic cost for a wedding in your home parish in 2018 is £474 . This legal fee is set by the Church of England nationally and is the same at every church. This basic legal fee includes the cost of the vicar, the church, calling your banns, a banns certificate, the marriage certificate, lighting and all administration.
Optional extras include extra marriage certificates at time of registration (£3.50 each), Organist (from £80), Bells (£15).
In addition if the service is to be recorded a Permission to Video Service licence must be obtained by the couple from Wedding Video Licence service and produced at the rehearsal. The average cost covering live and recorded music at the wedding and reception is £25-40. St John’s has a CCLI licence.
